What I wanted to say: "Yes, I purposefully blew off that task, because I thought it was meaningless and a waste of my time here." Instead, it came out "Oh. Must have slipped my mind. Busy day yesterday, you know" and then got a half hour lecture about being "detail oriented" while I dug my nails into the arm of my boss's highly uncomfortable "guest" chair. What I wanted to do was a standing jump onto his desk while simultaneously dropping my pants and turning around, and then rip the biggest, nastiest, wettest, stinkiest fart right in his face. The End! Hah! Take that, people who lecture me about things I already know whose job I could probably do better who understand absolutely nothing about the job I do and therefore think I don't do anything all day! Hah!
