I get to work this morning and someone stole my seat. He's right there and deep down he's a nice guy so he gave it back to me. What was he doing in my chair?
He was teaching one of the administrative assistants how to make a web page using dream weaver. The lady can barely use a computer. Seriously, she's deficient. There are things she's good at, I'm sure, but using a computer, and doing something that's more difficult than turning on the computer, saving her documents, or checking her e-mail, are not in that list.
I had to bite my tongue as her teacher patiently told her to do things that were simple, something even the most remedial computer user would easily accomplish.
Here's the thing, if they would just pay someone who knows what they're doing it would be done in a few hours. They wouldn't have to waste their time trying to teach basic computing. Hey, they could pay me. I wouldn't mind doing the work. And it would be a nice break in the day to do something different. But how do you propose something like that. "Hey, she's an idiot, let me do it". Sure.

Wed, December 10, 2003 - 4:50 PMI love the chair possessiveness! It's so funny. I do the same thing if someone's in my chair. Or, I also get touchy if someone comes behind my desk as opposed to approaching it from the front *like they should*. -

Re: My morning face slap!
Wed, December 10, 2003 - 5:02 PMHer foot is sprained and I now have to finish most of her work for today and tomorrow. She's coming in on friday to do payroll. I know how to do it but it's a pain in the butt so I'm glad I don't have to do it.
And on another note, I heard the lady who was trying to learn dreamweaver talking to the head honcho today about trying to get someone else to do the website. Someone who knows what they're doing. Good for her, at least she understands her limitation. Sometimes people can be sane.
