I just got told that I wouldn't be able to get paid more because it would create internal inequity.

Yeah sure, except that my job requires more skills than most of the other people working here have. Not to mention that if I were to go get a job in the corporate world I would probably be making almost double what I'm making now. That sounds like a little external inequity to me. EERRGh if only they were bigger jerks here I could quit and get a job with less bigger jerks. Stupid nice people.
