Well, yeah... if they gave us a raise to equal all the cost of living raises we should've had, that would be a 17% rise. I think they're offering 3%. I see that as an insult. It doesn't matter. I've crashed and burned now. My intermittent disability leave to attend stress-reduction classes is, I think, going to turn in to a full-time leave. I'm not going back, I can't.

my union is so useless also. There was just a vote on a contract where only people at the top level of pay would get a raise for the next three years. It was actually really close with one vote that was 'uncertain'. When our negotiators saw it the problem was that the check was half in the 'reject' box and half out. how is that uncertain?

Hi all, glad I found this tribe. I'm just pissed in general at the crappy way my workplace treats the people in my position -- very complex, difficult, and ever-changing job, NO proper training, NO real support, no raises (even cost of living!) for the last 5 years... they don't give a shit about us but if we all went on strike this place would shut down in about 10 minutes flat. Unfortunately we don't have the right to strike! When did fucking unions become so fucking toothless and brown-nosing? I'm in a difficult personal situation here as well -- was bullied out of one dept. and now unfortunately have run into another in this one... HR won't do a damn thing -- of course. They wish I'd quit, I'm sure. Well, I'd quit -- if they offered me a severence package so I didn't have to work for a while... I need some time off. If this stress keeps up I'll be getting it on a Short-term Disability Leave. It's so obvious that something is badly wrong with the way people work in this country -- we need a revived workers' movement, or something. AAAAAAAHHHHHHHH! I HATE IT HERE!!!!!!!!!!
